JOB DESCRIPTION

The animal welfare officer has the overall care of the beef cattle, sheep.horses and dogs on the farm.

Duties

  • feeding,grooming,training,and caring for all beef cattle,sheep,horses and dogs.
  • maintaining health care of animals,dosing and inoculating of sheep,lambs,horses, and beef cattle and reporting serious conditions to vet
  • assist vet with support during birth.
  • animal husbandry such as lamb and calf marking
  • daily transfer of livestock between enclosures including use of a trained dog.
  • maintaining animal health records
  • transportation of food,feeding and watering of livestock according to individual needs
  • preparing,cleaning and maintaining comfortable enclosures
  • must have certificate 3 in Ag as well as a min of 3 years experience.
  • must be happy to stay on isolated farm alone for extended periods of time
  • must hold all the listed skills to a high standard, enjoy life on a farm and remain committed to it.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From $55,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Shift work
